Two DIVE-Turbines of 2.2 Megawatt capacity each were shipped to Kazakhstan on June 26th 2019 from the manufacturing halls of DIVE Turbinen GmbH & Co. KG in Amorbach, Germany. The turbines are expected to reach their destination in the south of Kazakhstan in approximately four weeks. On site, they will be installed in a new hydro power plant at the river Keles at the Uzbek border. The turbine diameter is 2.3 meters, the height is 4.6 meters and the weight is 23 tons per turbine.

The container with the electric equipment of the power plant and the control units of the turbines are already on site. As soon as the turbines will arrive, they will be installed by crane and connected to the control units. The power plant will be commissioned later this year. This project is part of the worldwide dena Renewable Energy Solutions Programme coordinated by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena) - the German Energy Agency - and supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) within the German Energy Solutions Initiative.

The power plant is expected to generate more than 30 GWh of electricity, corresponding to the demand of 25.000 persons. Thus, the power plant is a significant contribution to the local energy supply. Moreover, the CO2-savings are about 16.000 tons per year.

The two turbines for Kazakhstan are a milestone for DIVE Turbinen GmbH & Co. KG, as they are the first DIVE-Turbines exceeding two Megawatt. The upgrade of turbine capacities now allows to produce DIVE-Turbines with capacities up to four Megawatt.
